Britain’s most loved and successful soul/funk band is back on tour in July 2022 celebrating 30 years of grooves with The Funk is Back. With sixteen Top 14 hits and 3 million albums sold worldwide, The Brand New Heavies original members Sy Bartholemew and Andrew Levy – along with singer Angela Ricci – are hitting the road to perform their own unique brand of groove, funk, pop and fusion.
Playing favourites such as ‘Dream On Dreamer’, ‘Back To Love’, ‘Midnight At The Oasis’, ‘Sometimes’, ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ and many more! This is a tour not to be missed!
Joining them for the Sydney performance are the reunited APRA-awarded acid jazz legends, D.I.G. (Directions in Groove). Directions In Groove burst onto the Australian music scene in the early 90s with a sound whose freshness and originality quickly won them an enormous audience of fans. Call it acid jazz, jazz funk or just great grooving music, D.I.G. delivered a level of musical excitement that has seldom been replicated, their albums and singles have won them multiple ARIA awards as they carved the way for the Aussie Jazz Funk movement.
*Please note: D.I.G. will only be performing at the Enmore Theatre and Anita’s Theatre.
